(Peri)menopause
Support
There are estrogen receptors all throughout a woman's body, and as estrogen starts to decline, this can lead to a range of unwelcome symptoms (up to 90!), including mood swings, poor sleep, skin issues, weight gain, and hot flashes. While some women have very few symptoms, others have many, and life understandably becomes very challenging. The average age of menopause is 50 and perimenopause can start up to 8 years prior.
The good news is that many of these symptoms can be eased or eliminated through simple lifestyle changes that I will guide you through. I also work in partnership with doctors or gynaecologists when necessary.
Another complicating factor at this time in our lives is that many psychological issues that we may have been able to ignore for a long time start to come to the fore. This is compounded by the stress we experience just from the perimenopausal symptoms themselves. My coaching approach is informed by IFS (Internal Family Systems) which is a great way to get to know the different parts of ourselves that may be hidden, and to provide some relief.
Healthy Ageing
Getting older doesn't have to mean getting weaker or sicker.
The process of ageing can be transformed into the most beautiful stage of life, where we are able to enjoy phases such as retirement, spending time with grandchildren or doing the travelling we have always wanted to do with energy and zest. That's why it's so important to improve and maintain our health.
Together we will work on every aspect, including eating the right foods to reduce inflammation, doing the right kind of movement to build strength and flexibility, and having the right mindset, including reducing stress and anxiety.
Weight Management
Weight management can be very challenging as there are often different parts of us in conflict about what we want when it comes to food and eating.
My approach is always to look at changing what and how you eat by focusing on mental health, internal physical health and building a strong body rather than focusing on parts of us that feel shamed by cultural and media pressure about how our bodies should look.
Together, we will craft a lifestyle that will make weight loss gradual and sustainable, while still allowing you to enjoy the little pleasures of life.
Stress and Anxiety Reduction
So many of my clients are experiencing high levels of stress or anxiety, and taking care of this aspect of our health cannot be neglected.
I help you find ways to reduce stress and anxiety in both your external and internal worlds, because they are both important.
About me
My early forties were challenging. I began experiencing insomnia, mood swings, and a range of other strange symptoms that no doctor could explain. On top of that, I had a demanding job managing large teams, which left me feeling drained and overwhelmed.
It wasn’t until I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition in my 40s that I truly started to take control of my health. I learned about the impact of my mental health on my body, transformed how I ate, found enjoyable ways to stay active, and prioritised reducing stress in my daily life, including completely switching careers. Since then, I haven’t looked back, and my autoimmune condition has disappeared.
Now I'm an HCA diploma-trained and IFS (Internal Family Systems)-informed health coach. I'm also currently enrolled in a Master of Counselling.
I see health as holistic, and I absolutely love helping people to achieve the physical and mental health that is our birthright.
